Type NME is a 2-ply laminate constructed of lower cost calendered NOMEX® paper bonded to polyester film. These cost-effective, thin and slick laminates are outstanding alternatives to those that are all polyester-based. NME is a more cost-effective alternative to it's NM 2-ply counterpart due to the use of the lower cost aramid paper also.
Broadly used in the manufacture of smaller motors, the most important applications for these laminates are slot liners, wedges and phase insulation in Class F motors, as well as in specialty Class B motors. These laminates help improve the manufacturing process by increasing automatic insertion machine speeds.
