Varnish, Resins and Conformal Coatings

Electrowind offers varnish evaluation and maintenance services that ensure a long stable life for your varnish. Working with our suppliers, we will ensure regular sampling and maintenance of your varnish tanks at no extra cost.

Electrowind stocks a broad range of varnish, resins and conformal coatings from names you trust including Elantas PDG Inc., Ranbar, Von Roll, Dolph, Glyptal and Dow Corning. Our products are manufactured to the highest standards and are designed for electrical, automotive, aerospace, marine and electronics applications.

We are a stocking distributor of styrene, urethane, silicone, phenolic, acrylic, polyester, polybutadiene and epoxy formulations for conformal coatings, potting and encapsulation by dripping, brushing, trickle, pour-on and vacuum pressure impregnation. Available in air-dry, solventless, solventbourne, waterbourne or catlytic initiation for ambient or thermal curing of electrical windings or electrical components. We also carry top coat (non-insulating) and electrical insulating sprays and paints.

Our products are available in packages that include:

  • Tote tank and tanker truck quantities

Insulating Coatings
Glyptal 1201 RED ALKYD (BRUSH/SPRAY/DIP) BAKE OR AIR DRY. Meets MIL-E22118; used for coils, armatures and other electrical apparatus. Also used as a primer, sealer and for screws, pipes, vacuum systems and hydraulic fluid chambers.
Glyptal 1201A RED ALKYD AEROSOL SPRAY CAN VERSION OF 1201. For convenience and ease of application.
Glyptal 1201B RED ALKYD (BRUSH/SPRAY/DIP). BAKE OR AIR DRY. Higher solid, higher viscosity version of 1201.
Glyptal 1209 GLOSS BLACK ALKYD (BRUSH/SPRAY). BAKE OR AIR DRY. Use on small motor stators, field coils, end windings and bus bars. Also used as finishing coat on electrical equipment.
Glyptal 74004 BUFF CATALYST CURING EPOXY, 74010 hardener required. Designed to give maximum durability and chemical resistance; used on equipment exposed to oils, coolants, and other corrosive agents; frequently used on large end windings.
Glyptal 7815 GLOSS BLACK ALKYD (BRUSH/SPRAY). BAKE OR AIR DRY. Used as a finishing coat on end windings and as finish coat on electrical apparatus where resistance to oil. Humidity and weather is required.
Glyptal 8001 GLOSS RED ALKYD (BRUSH /SPRAY/DIP). BAKE OF AIR DRY. Similar to 1201 except that is has higher bonding strength at room temperature. Recommended primarily for bakes.
Glyptal C1149 ASA49 GRAY VERSION OF 74004. 74010 hardener required.
Glyptal CE237 BLACK ALKYD (SPRAY/DIP). BAKE OR AIR DRY. An offset to 7815 with improved arc resistance. Designed for Finishing motor end windings for oil and chemical resistance.
Glyptal CE387 BLUE EPOXY (BRUSH/SPRAY). AIR DRY. 74010 hardener required. Designed for heavy duty resistance to oil, coolants, corrosive agents to give maximum durability and chemical resistance.

Glyptal 1559 WHITE GLOSS ALKYD NITROCELLULOSE LACQUER (SPRAY/DIP). AIR DRY. Custom finish for Industrial products. Suitable for hospital and kitchen equipment. Good exterior durability with excellent gloss and colour retention.
Glyptal 2600 BLACK GLOSS ALKYD NITROCELLULOSE LACQUER (SPRAY/DIP) AIR DRY. Excellent weather durability and arc resistance. Used for electrical equipment, instruments and switchgear.
Glyptal 7496 GRAY LOW GLOSS ALKYD ENAMEL (SPRAY/DIP). BAKE OR AIR DRY. Designed for finishing of motors and other electrical equipment where good arc resistance is required. Interior exposure only.
Glyptal 7815 BLACK GLOSS ALKYD (SPRAY/DIP) BAKE OR AIR DRY. Designed as a finish coat on end windings and electrical equipment. Excellent oil, humidity, and weather resistance.
Glyptal 8112 ASA #49 GRAY LOW GLOSS VINYL ALKYD (SPRAY). AIR DRY. Designed as a finish for motors, switchgear and as a general purpose equipment finish with good oil a weather resistance.
Glyptal 8238 ASA #49 GRAY MEDIUM GLOSS ALKYD (SPRAY) READY-TO-SPRAY. AIR DRY. Designed for motors and equipment in the motor repair industry. Used for transformers, machines, switchgear, and other electrical apparatus.
Glyptal 8239 ASA #61 GRAY. Properties are the same as 8238 but in a #61 colour.

Glyptal G3415 MEDIUM GRAY GLOSS ENAMEL ASA #61 (BRUSH/SPRAY). AIR DRY. A durable enamel for general finishing of machinery and electrical apparatus. Has excellent outdoor durability and high resistance to transformer oils. May be used on metal or wood.

GLY.C1815B BEIGE WATERBORNE ALKYD PRIMER (SPRAY). AIR DRY. Designed for single coat application on components subject to Exterior exposure. C-1815B is formulated to contain a minimum level of trace elements and is recommended for use in atomic power installations.

GLY.86009 ALUMINUM LOW GLOSS SILICONE (SPRAY). BAKE. A ready-mixed aluminum pigmented silicone resin product designed for high temperature applications. It provides a durable, protective coating on metal surfaces subjected to temperatures of 400
GLY.S1193 CLASS A & B GRAY SILICONE EPOXY FINISH (BAKE/SPRAY). Applications include ovens, protective finishes on jet engine components (meets GE Aircraft Engine Specification #F50TF3-53), aircraft and marine surfaces, solar energy systems and high temperature automotive components. The coatings may be applied to aluminum, magnesium or steel.
GLY.S1195 CLASS D RESINOUS REDUCER Used for all S1193 Silicone-Epoxy Finishes.
