Rigid Laminates

Rigid Laminates

Electrowind is your rigid laminate specialist and stocks a wide variety of sheets in different constructions and sizes. Electrowind is a master fabricator of rigid material and provides custom fabrication solutions that are made to your specification.

Electrowind is your source for rigid laminates. We stock transformer board, pressboard, fibre and and other paper based materials.  We have access to Permali and electrical grade pulp based products. Glass reinforced laminate sheets (GPO-3, SG-200, Nema grade G5, G7, G9, G10, G11) to meet your insulation requirements. We also carry high-pressure laminates such as Phenolic (Micarta®, Bakelite) and mica sheets.  Arboron, LEXAN®, FORMEX®, Nylon and other plastics round out our product offering.

All of our products are available in various sizes of sheet and molded parts that include tube: rod, channel, angle, dogbone, wedges and stand-off insulators. In addition, Electrowind Fabrication Services has CNC, sawing and die-cutting capabilities to produce machined, punched or formed parts and custom sizes that meet your specific requirements.

SELECT THE CORRECT RIGID LAMINATE

Using the information below, the selection process begins with determining whether your application is principally mechanical, electrical, chemical or thermal. Identify the most important properties required and then compare these with the main characteristic of the grades listed below. This will assist you in specifying the grade for your project.

Paper Based Products – Usually used for electrical insulation rather than wear properties.

Cotton Based Products – Usually chosen for wear resistance and mechanical strength. A fine weave of cotton is used to ensure clean machinability.

Glass Based Products – Usually selected for low moisture sensitivity, high mechanical strength, superior heat resistance and electrical insulating properties.
