Lacing tapes and cords are produced from various materials to provide the best solution for your application. Cords are twisted fibers and are usually treated to reduce unraveling or fraying. Tapes are flat braided or woven and impregnated with appropriate finishes to meet various specifications. Treatments include wax, oil or others as required. Heat shrinkable polyester tape is also available.

Cords and tapes have high tensile strength making them ideal for harnessing purposes. Treated types have good knot holding properties which is necessary when doing lashing of motor coils, holding leads in position or on general electronic lacing work.

Electrowind stocks a variety of tapes and cords in constructions that include NOMEX®, KEVLAR®, NYLON®, glass-polyester and cotton tapes in flat braided, weftless, filament or twisted form. Available with wax, rubber, vinyl, TEFLON® or B-stage coatings for lacing, winding, armature and transformer banding and harnessing, and as a high-strength non-metallic alternative for the transport and storage of goods.

Non-adhesive tapes include tapes woven from DACRON®, fiberglass or cotton in various weaves and styles. Heat treated, chemically treated, finishing tapes, plain or with center-lines for offset wrapping. Other non-adhesive tapes include: self-amalgamating silicone rubber tape, vinyl, teflon, lead tape, varnish-cambric (glass), oil-packed and others.
